On December 5th, 2012 the body of 16 year old CJ Fowler was located near Guerin Creek inside the City of Kamloops.

Since that time the Kamloops Detachment Serious Crime Unit has had conduct of the investigation which has moved across much of the Province of British Columbia.

Assistance was obtained from the E Division Major Crime Unit, Prince George, Terrace and Kelowna RCMP Detachments as well as several other investigative branches within the RCMP.

On Thursday January 9th, 2013 a murder warrant was issued in relation to the death of Ms. FOWLER.

On Friday January 10, investigators from the Kamloops Serious Crime Unit arrested twenty-two year old Damien Lawrence TAYLOR without incident in Kelowna, where he had been residing for the last few months.

Mr. TAYLOR and Ms. FOWLER were known to each other and were considered to be in a dating relationship. Mr. TAYLOR is not considered a suspect in any other active or ongoing investigations.

Mr. TAYLOR is currently in police custody and is scheduled to make an appearance in Kamloops Provincial Court on Monday January 13th, 2014.
